The Purchasing Department is responsible for a wide range of tasks ranging from the design and introduction of new products to the selection of high-quality materials and the decision to discontinue articles. Through our well-integrated processes and cross-border operations, we create an important impact in the purchase of all articles across all JYSK countries. One of our primary goals is to become even more sustainable.
The Purchasing department has three sub-divisions departments:
In Commercial Purchasing we work closely with our many suppliers, but also our multiple departments at JYSK, such as Range and Design, Flow of Goods, Compliance & Quality and Marketing. Hence, we are the connecting link between many departments and functions.
Examples of tasks:
"JYSK is developing very fast. We’re trying to position ourselves in the market and introduce even more trendy and Scandinavian articles than what our customers are used to – this goes for colours, styles and materials. Also we are working very hard on becomming even more sustainable. That is a major thing for us, and it is so exciting to be part of these efforts. JYSK gives you the freedom to do so many things, so you have every chance to widen your field of expertise and try out new things or procedures."
Ruben, Purchasing Director Mattresses/Online
The Flow of Goods department is responsible for ensuring that all JYSK stores receive the right goods, in the right quantities, at the right time and place, within the given budget. That requires us to manage and strengthen our portfolios, and reviewing new articles - always considering the development of sales.
Another sub-division of the Flow of Goods department is Process, Development and Master Data which consists of teams who are responsible for securing continuous development and optimization of the many IT systems that are used by the Purchasing department.
Hence, a close corporation with other JYSK departments, such as the Sales & Expansion team, the Distribution Centres and our suppliers is very important in order to manage supply and demand.
Examples of tasks:
“JYSK’s culture is totally unique. Positivity, team spirit and flexibility are embedded in JYSK culture. In JYSK I feel a great sense of community, and I have an excellent network of supportive colleagues always ready to give a helping hand. JYSK supports a collaborative environment across all departments. We are always working together, supporting each other and giving the sense of ‘One JYSK’ where everybody is working towards common objectives and winning together as one. It is inspiring, and it gives me great energy to be part of such an awesome community.
JYSK is a fast-growing company where things are constantly changing. There are great opportunities to have an impact on JYSK’s growth journey; new ideas and inputs are always welcome. JYSK is characterized by a flat company structure with great collaboration among leaders and employees allowing ideas to turn into actions quickly."
Ida, Demand Planner

Our team is located at the Danish Head Office but there are also colleagues in other countries, handling the quality control at their local Distribution Centre.
Hence, when working in the Compliance and Quality department, you will work with many different cultures on for instance the following tasks:
"I think JYSK has a fantastic working environment.
In our department, there is a good atmosphere. Even if we are busy, we take things as they come and respect differences. Our department is small, but we have a great teamwork and respect each other’s differences."
