“When I started, my manager had planned a detailed program for my introduction, lasting 14 days. Together we planned the coming two years in regard of visits to related departments, focusing on areas of interest and level of expected collaboration.”
On a personal level, I experienced the transition from student to full-time employee. This required some getting used to, having to perform on a high level on an every-day-basis in working hours. Also, having own responsibilities and colleagues depending on your work was quite different from the studies.”
“My main tasks have differed quite a lot, but mainly my task is to develop skills within my area, SAP Sales & Distribution, getting to know the standard way of the sales and distribution processes, but then being able to compare them and know the JYSK way of interpreting the essential sales and distribution processes and provide business value in the processes we focus on at JYSK. These tasks include being secondary responsible on all our solutions regarding route scheduling, available to promise and the planning processes – just to mention a few. These areas are led by a Lead SAP Consultant, and as I get more familiar with the solutions, I am responsible for the daily operations of the areas and work on improvements as per request from the business.”
“Being a graduate at JYSK is all about learning, improving and hereafter providing value of the learnings made throughout the entirety of the graduate programme. The awareness of young people seeking knowledge is well known within JYSK, but the company and colleagues also acknowledge the fact that young people come with new ideas for solutions and tries to come with new processes to continuously improve the company’s IT flows. I get all the responsibility of the solutions I have made, firmly supported by colleagues and mentors in the IT department.”
“Becoming a graduate with JYSK provides you with a lot of different opportunities, no employee is identical, and JYSK makes it evident that people are different, tailoring the entire graduate plan – with support from the graduate – into containing relevant learning goals meanwhile providing value to the company. Additionally, the ability to change the culture, being able to speak up and being heard by higher ranking people in the organisation on an equal level to peers, means a lot. Finally, in my own decision of choosing JYSK, the work/life balance was essential. It is a rarity that I work outside normal working hours, making my personal life and work life more manageable than working 50+ hours.”
