Compliance & Sustainability Specialist

If you are enthusiastic about responsible supplier management, more sustainable consumer products and driven by data to guide and support solution proposals and decisions within a sustainability area in rapid development - then you could be the person we are looking for, as our next Compliance and Sustainability Specialist.
You will play a key and impactful role in JYSK’s environmental sustainability journey. In this position, the focus will be on purchased goods and services – the majority of JYSK’s emissions. Primary tasks include calculating and reducing our products CO2 emissions and assessing and improving the environmental impact of the factories.

You will be part of the Compliance & Quality department consisting of 15 dedicated colleagues, most of whom have their daily routine at the head office in Aarhus.

WHAT YOUR NEXT JOB WILL BE ABOUT 
Your tasks and responsibilities in the job includes:

• Support suppliers and buyers in sourcing more responsible materials and products based on available data and knowledge, so that we always work towards a more sustainable range.
• Work to map and reduce the products and suppliers CO2 footprint in accordance with the Greenhouse Gas Protocol, as well as water, waste, and other environmental impacts with a focus on the product's overall life cycle.
• Collect and structure valuable sustainability related data on a large and complex supply chain, with the target of improving our impact.

WHAT SHOULD YOU BRING 
We are looking for a new colleague who:

• Has a relevant education with a focus on sustainability or data analysis and can be a recent graduate or sit in a similar job today. 
• Works structured and analytically and has strong skills in Excel, so you can break down substantial amounts of data and highlight the most important trends. 
• Has a sincere interest in the green transition and possesses updated knowledge within the area of sustainability. 
• Has a good understanding or interest in the product lifecycle, CO2 footprint and environmental impact. 
• Masters English in writing and speaking at a high level and is not afraid to navigate platforms in foreign languages that you are not fluent in. 
• Has a positive energy, impact and can make things happen. 
• Manage to set the direction based on JYSK’s policies and get your colleagues in on the journey.

Your primary workplace is at the head office in Aarhus, and you should expect approx. 20 travel days per. year.
